It’s Here!

Jake and I are excited to announce the unit is ready to serve Pueblo and Pueblo West customers. This project has been exciting and challenging, considering we flipped an ambulance into a mobile grooming unit. This project would have not happened without the help and amazing work of my dad. A huge shout out to Mike!

My last post showed the ambulance gutted with some minor additions to the interior. Over the next month, major modifications happened to allow the bathing system to function. Although the ambulance had been converted into a camping RV, there wasn’t sufficient water available to bathe the dogs. We had to get creative and find a home for the grey water tank we wanted to add. We had plenty of space, but the space we wanted to home the tank was an untraditional size, and that led us to special ordering a tank. Special order=more money & more time to wait. Fortunately the custom tank only took 3 weeks to arrive, verse the five weeks they had originally quoted. The install was pretty easy once the tank arrived. We thought we had cleared the fresh and grey water tank hurdle….we celebrated too soon. Upon testing the fresh tanks (2-20 gallon tanks), they didn’t have proper ventilation to allow the full 40 gallons to be pumped. Here we were again, searching for a new tank. Thankfully the area the tanks were stored in allowed more flexibility and we were able to find a 40 gallon tank on amazon that arrived in less than a week. Once everything was plumbed in, we had a working bathing system.

Our bathing system consists of a 40 gallon fresh water tank, 40 gallon grey water tank, and a bather box to ensure the proper amount of shampoo/conditioner is applied to your fur baby. The 40 gallon tanks ensure that there is plenty of water, even for our largest dogs!

We had to rip out the framing where there once used to be a built in futon in the camping ambulance. This is where the electric grooming table would be installed at. This took some time due to the stainless steel plating over the framing for the bed. Finally, we were able to remove that and slide in the grooming table for a perfect fit. This electric table will hold the largest of dogs and rise high enough to groom the smallest of dogs.

Last but DEFINITELY not least, the amazing eye catching wrap was applied to the unit and it is ready to provide baths, grooms, and deshedding packages to the Pueblo and Pueblo West area. Your dogs will be happy that you chose Groombusters to pamper them.
